Brian found Annie the Musical on Demand and now it has taken over our lives. I think it was a staple of both our childhoods and now he's trying to make it part of Lily and Mollys.
By any means....
No seriously, the funny thing is, hearing it now, as adults, all the lyrics suddenly make sense but we can't help but hear it as we did back then.
Every so often I'll hear Brian in the kitchen singing 'Anty belly lies' or I'll find myself thinking "no one cares for you us kids."
Even weirder thing, it turns out that "make her drink a 'micky finn'. Is actually.....
"make her drink a micky finn'."
What?
No one cares for you a smidge

She JUST made her daughters an Annie orphan outfit and the red dress...so cute!
Ohh, that made me laugh. You are too funny. My 5 year old daughter went through an Annie phase last year, perfect timing it turns out, because we have a red "Annie" dress from my childhood that fit her perfectly. I think it's cool that our kids love the same movies we did... we've revisited Pippi (all of them!), Willy Wonka, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Mary Poppins, Bedknobs & Broomsticks, Pete's Dragon... goodness, so many, yet so many more to go!
My 7 year old is tapping to Hard Knock Life this year so I was so happy when I found Annie on Demand last week!
My cousin & I still sing the songs! If I go down a flight of steps sometimes I shuffle and sing (not always in my head)... "We've got Annie"...
Okay, so this is seriously nerdy on my part, but I know what a Mickey Finn is:
A Mickey Finn is when somebody slips you a wicked strong drink. That's why they say "somebody slipped me a Mickey...", too.
The only reason I know is because when I was little I was in LOVE with this movie, too and also was one of those kids who needed to understand every freakin' thing. So, I asked my parents until they told me!
PS Love BOTH your blogs, by the way!
