My Inner Rapunzel

Tuesday, February 24

I've decided. I'm going to let my hair grow out again. I've had this bob 'Katie Holmes' thing going for a while now and although I like it, it doesn't leave much for variety. AND it's really hard to keep up with.

You gals out there might know what I mean. I was never the type to get regular manicures or even root touch up. So having to go every 8 weeks to the salon and pay $50 is something I just can't bring myself to maintain. [My sister would be berating me at this point in the conversation.] She's the highlighting, manicuring, nylon wearing type. And I've tried to be that....unsuccessfully.

So I'm going to let it out so when I'm in a hurry I can pull it in a ponytail. So I can put it in curlers overnight and look great in the morning. So I can wear the sweetest hairpieces like this and this and this.

Bobby pins, watch out.

We can be "growing it out buddies" if you like...I'm also trying to grow out a Katie Holmes hair cut. I put mine in a ponytail, but I really shouldn't...lol

I've been working on growing mine out for awhile now...and its just about there. Be encouraged. It eventually happens. I found using an actual hair growth shampoo helps speed up the process (especially if you have fine hair like I do). Doctor Murad Hair Treatment, although a bit pricey...if you use it sparingly...is excellent.
Smells like fresh green grass after a honeysuckle rain.

Mines overgrown and a terrible sight. Growing it out is just my excuse for missing my last two hair appointments.

Ditto on growing your hair out. I'm in the same boat. How do you keep your hair looking so beautifully curled? I try all kinds of curling products but can't get the right look. Thus the hair growing...

Okay, this is all I do....
I put soft foam, dollar store, rollers in my towel dried, wet hair and sleep in them overnight.

My hair stays curly for a week!

It is a little uncomfortable to sleep in but I haven't found anything that creates such natural, long lasting results.

And I can live with once a week:)

I'm with you on this. People always think short hair is easy but its anything but. I hope your longer hair brings you much joy. And the Ban.do hair ties are super fun.

I have a similar cut and I really love it, but am growing mine out too. I want it a bit longer so that I can do more with it, but still keep kind of an edge and shape to the bottom. Mine has natural wave, which I usually straighten. I am thinking of a perm for volume when I straighten and Mermaid hair when I let it go. I have enjoyed perusing your two blogs today.
